We are the Azure Customer Experience (CXP) team, and we are looking for a Principal Product Manage r to join our team to help drive the next generation of our customer care, trust, reliability, engagement, and observability experiences.

 We are part of the Azure engineering organization and consider customer experience critical to the overall success of Azure. We create, define, and lead product offerings that set our customers, engineers, and field up for success, empowering them to make data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Product Manage r on our team you will have a direct and clear impact on our products and customers. In this role, you will work closely with talented Engineering and Data Science teams, collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across Azure, and have the opportunity to design, deliver, and iterate on new tools, applications, and Azure features. Our work has high visibility with the Azure leadership team and ample opportunities to share our successes and receive support and guidance from them. The scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Define the long-term vision and strategy for the feature(s)/feature areas based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market and user research, the competitive landscape, and Microsoft’s business goals and strategy

  • Create product/feature specifications with visual and written designs based on customer research and insights.

  • Collaborate with internal partners and external stakeholders to gather input and garner support for product/service vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Influence leadership and drive alignment across complex organizational structures.

  • Define significant business impact across the organization, success criteria, and performance metrics (e.g., OKRs, KPIs).

  • Partner with engineering teams as a subject matter expert on feature design and user experience, focusing on security and privacy compliance and excellence.

  • Evangelize feature areas with internal and external stakeholders via presentations, blogs, social media, and large events.

  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering to develop release criteria, customer strategies, and marketing content.

  • Identify and prioritize short-term and long-term investment opportunities in consultation with cross-functional partners.

  • Provide hands-on program management during various project phases, contributing to agile development practices.

Qualifications

*Required Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development. 

                        OR equivalent experience. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience. 

  • 8+ years of program or product management experience where your primary responsibilities involved the design of software features working closely with an engineering team. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and drive alignment across complex organizational structures.

  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies.

  • Experience using data to drive prioritization and measure progress. 

  • Deep understanding of cloud fundamentals and optimization of customer workloads.

  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling cloud-based products or services.

  • Experience expressing designs visually and partnering with UX designers to deliver delightful user experiences. 

  • Experience working closely with customers and engineers to rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions. 

  • Experience with data analytics and related technologies, including Kusto (Azure Data Explorer), SQL, ETL technologies, machine learning (ML), and Power BI. 

  • Ability to translate customer requirements and scenarios into features, including writing software specifications with user experience.  

Product Management IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 – $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 – $294,000 per year.
