Overview

As a Lead System Engineer, you’ll be responsible for translating the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) defining large scale solution and implementation to problems through reasoned application of information technology. This career step requires automation and cloud technology technical expertise, Mobility Network Telco experience and is a hands-on function that ultimately results in the delivery of an application or service on the vertical and horizontal stack.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and automation for disaggregated architecture with enhanced Cloud-based connectivity configuration and network cloud fabric elements.

  • Design, solution, develop, code, test, debug and document overall architecture for new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, scalability and operational needs. This includes analyzes of overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software.

  • Provide detailed design expertise and align development teams and key stakeholders to a shared technical direction in elaborating the Solution and its interfaces

  • Work with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers

  • Support technical initiatives for an overall larger transformation and initiativ

  • Lead, conduct design and implement work in the areas of new/ existing products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security and QA Design/Certification. Work must primarily involve new and emerging technologies and technical architectures on projects with a status between inception and implementation/software maturity.

  • Build high quality code following unit testing, test-driven development, system integration, e2e testing and ensure complete UAT with partners

  • Establish critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of others

  • Drive and participate in code and document reviews, mentoring team in best practices

  • Collaborate with peer organizations, dev ops, support organizations on technical issues and provide guidance

  • Interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements and accurate estimates

  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance is achieved

  • Work with team to troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently; provide RCA

  • Apply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems

  • Focus on performance, usability, scalability, security and availability of all applications and processe

  • Lead design and architecture to enable secure, scalable and maintainable software

  • Provide key expertise to drive technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements.

  • Solution based on product epics/features that evolve Mobility OSS Service Delivery and Service Assurance automation, improve network planning user experience, deliver generic, modular, configuration-based software

  • Review business requirements and assumptions to come up with optimum end-end solution considering functional and non-functional requirements. Help with Feature definition, sizing the Epics/features

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in self-assist support related capabilities as related to wireless related network and related OSS systems.

  • Works in an Agile environment to refine business requirements work with product owner and lead developers to define and lay out system interfaces and data flows, and system interfaces.

  • Ability to measure and suggest way to improve defined KPIs to ensure best-in-class customer experience. Utilize Data analytics and ML/LLM AI models to discover pattern and solutions that lead to improvement of KPI and overall customer experience

Experience/Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in architecture and design of systems using Micro services, REST architecture.

  • 6+ years of experience in a leadership capacity – coaching and mentoring engineers, developer.

  • 6+ years BPNM and or decision rules Engines.

  • 4+ years of experience in cloud technologies: Network Cloud (CNIS), Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef or Terraform.

  • 2+ years of experience in build and CICD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus or Son.

  • 4+ years of experience in Unit and Function testing using Junit, Spock, Mockito/JMock, Selenium, Cucumber, or SoapUI.

  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux command line.

  • Expert knowledge and experience working with asynchronous message processing, stream processing and event driven computing.

  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum/Kanban development team.

  • Familiarity with HTML5, JavaScript frameworks, and CSS3.

  • Demonstrated success in leading programs and solution engineering teams, planning, and tracking execution, gaining consensus and resolving issues demonstrating sound decision making.

Our Lead System Engineers earn between $128,400.00 – $215,800.00, USD, annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
